Woodpeckers Baltic Birch Plywood Review: Right for Us?

We’ve worked with plenty of craft panels, but this box of Woodpeckers 6 mm Baltic Birch Plywood feels like it’s aiming a little higher than the usual “hobby wood.” The 1/4 x 12 x 16 inch sheets arrive in a tidy set of 12, marked B/BB grade—clean faces for display pieces, with just enough character to remind us it’s real wood. What stands out is the stiffness: compared with basswood sheets we’ve used for laser and CNC projects, these panels hold their shape better and feel less prone to denting. In our early tests, the edges cut crisply and the surface takes wood burning with confident, even lines. Still, we’re watching for consistency sheet to sheet.

My Take on the Homall 7-Piece Patio Dining Set

The Homall 7-Piece Patio Dining Set caught my eye because it’s built for the way I actually use a backyard—long meals, muddy hands, and plenty of sun. As a woodworker, I’m picky about joinery and stability, and while this isn’t a timber-and-tenon showpiece, the large table feels thoughtfully sized and nicely balanced for six. The light grey finish looks clean without screaming for attention, and the Textilene chairs have that practical, hose-it-off appeal I appreciate after a day in the shop. I’ve been testing it on my porch and near the garden, and so far it’s been a comfortable, straightforward set that invites you to sit down and stay awhile.

Anezus Cutting Mat Review: Right for Our Home Shop?

Anezus Cutting Mat Review: Right for Our Home Shop?

In our home shop, the cutting mat is the quiet workhorse that either makes projects flow—or makes us grumble. The anezus Self Healing Sewing Mat (9" x 12", A4) promises a lot for such a compact board: a double-sided surface, a sturdy 5-ply build, and that satisfying “self-healing” finish that’s meant to shrug off rotary blades and craft knives. We put it through our usual mix of fabric trimming, paper cuts for scrapbooking, and quick pattern tweaks, watching how well the grid lines guide precision and whether the mat stays flat and steady on the table. The question isn’t just durability—it’s whether this small mat earns a permanent spot in our workspace.

Teakhaus Carving Cutting Board Review: Right for Us?

Teakhaus Carving Cutting Board Review: Right for Us?

We didn’t think a cutting board could change our prep routine, but the Teakhaus Butcher Block Carving Board made us pause. The medium-thick, end-grain teak feels solid without being clunky, and our knives seem to glide rather than bite—an encouraging sign for edge retention. The juice groove is the quiet hero: it catches runoff from roasted chicken and ripe tomatoes, keeping our counter from turning into a slippery mess. We also like that it arrives gift-ready, which makes it an easy “holiday win” for cooks on our list (and, honestly, for us too). With FSC certification and a warm, clean grain, it looks as good on display as it performs—at least so far.

My Take on the LEVELEVE 5-Piece Rattan Set

My Take on the LEVELEVE 5-Piece Rattan Set

When I’m not in the shop fussing over a tight joint or a clean chamfer, I’m usually outside—coffee in hand—testing what actually holds up to real porch life. The LEVELEVE 5-Piece Rattan Set surprised me in a good way. The PE rattan weave has that hand-crafted look I appreciate, and the brown frame with beige cushions feels classic without trying too hard. The lounge chairs sit comfortably for long chats, and the two ottomans are a smart touch—great for kicking up your feet or pulling in as extra seating. I also like the glass-topped table for its easy wipe-down practicality. Overall, it’s a cozy, well-balanced setup for a balcony, lawn, or porch.

Molcajete Stone Grinder Review: Right for Our Shop?

Molcajete Stone Grinder Review: Right for Our Shop?

When we unboxed the Traditional Molcajete Mexicano volcanic rock mortar and pestle set, it felt less like opening cookware and more like meeting a tool with a history. Handmade in Puebla from authentic lava rock, the bowl has a rugged heft that promises stability on a busy prep table. We tested it the way our customers would: grinding toasted chiles, salt, and garlic, then folding in avocado for guacamole. The texture landed somewhere between rustic and refined—chunky enough to feel handmade, smooth enough to scoop. The included guacamole bowl and small cutting board turned it into a tidy, serve-ready station, which matters in our shop. Our main question now: seasoning time and cleanup—worth the commitment?

COOGOU Bamboo Garment Rack Review: Right for Our Shop?

When we started looking for a compact display piece that wouldn’t overwhelm our children’s section, the COOGOU Bamboo Garment Rack caught our eye. At 50" high, it sits at a kid-friendly level, making it easy for little shoppers (and busy parents) to browse without tugging everything off a full-size rail. We like the warm bamboo-and-wood look—it feels more boutique than plastic, and it blends into a nursery aesthetic just as easily as a retail floor. The two-tier setup adds real utility: a hanging bar for tiny dresses and costumes, plus shelves for shoes, baskets, or folded sets. Our big question now is durability under daily use—and whether its “mini” footprint matches our inventory flow.

My Take on the KROFEM 8‑Piece Modular Patio Set

If you know me from CraftedByGrain.com, you know I’m a sucker for smart joinery, clean lines, and pieces that actually earn their spot on the patio. The KROFEM 8‑Piece Modular Patio Set surprised me in the best way. The black UV‑treated wicker has that tight, consistent weave I look for—no sloppy gaps—and the rustproof frame feels solid when you shift the modules around. I like that it seats six without eating the whole deck, and the two hidden storage compartments are the kind of practical detail I wish more makers included. Add in machine‑washable cushions and a waterproof build, and it’s a setup that’s ready for real life: cookouts, rain clouds, and long evenings outdoors.

Haofy A4 Self-Healing Cutting Mat Review: Shop Fit?

Haofy A4 Self-Healing Cutting Mat Review: Shop Fit?

We put the Haofy A4 Self-Healing Cutting Mat on our workbench to see if it’s truly a “shop fit” or just another craft accessory with big promises. Right away, the translucent A4 size feels tidy and space-friendly—easy to slide under a sewing machine, stash in a drawer, or keep beside our hobby knife. The double-sided grid is the real workhorse: inches on one side, metric and angles on the other, so our measuring doesn’t turn into a guessing game mid-cut. After a few rounds of fabric trimming and paper-scrapbooking slices, the 5-layer PVC surface seems to shrug off light scoring marks, keeping our blades gliding smoothly. It’s not flashy, but it’s quietly practical.

COMHOMA Vanity Desk Review: Right Shop Workbench?

We went into the COMHOMA Vanity Desk expecting a simple get-ready station, but it feels closer to a compact command center for mornings. The mirror’s built-in lights offer three modes—handy when our “daylight makeup” meets a warm bedroom lamp—and the adjustable brightness helps us dial in the vibe without squinting. Storage drawers keep brushes, palettes, and stray hair ties from taking over the surface, while the built-in power outlet means our dryer or curling iron doesn’t have to hunt for wall space. It’s small enough to fit tighter bedrooms, yet purposeful in its layout. In our “Right Shop Workbench?” test, it’s less garage bench and more beauty bench—clean, practical, and ready for routine.
