IGAN P6 Flush Cutters Review: Right for Our Shop?

In our shop, a good flush cutter has to earn its keep: it needs to bite cleanly, stay comfortable in the hand, and leave behind as little cleanup as possible. The IGAN-P6 6-inch Ultra Sharp & Powerful Side Cutter Clippers caught our attention with its longer flush cutting edge—promising smoother, flatter snips on everything from zip ties and crafting wire to floral stems and small electrical leads. After a few days of real use, we found the cutters feel confidently built, with a sharpness that makes quick work of light- to medium-duty tasks without forcing our grip. After a long day in the shop, I love unwinding on the patio—so I’m picky about anything that protects the furniture I’ve built and cared for. It’s sized for a rectangular set (111" x 74" x 28"), and the heavy-duty plastic feels more like a true protector than a flimsy tarp. We’ve been testing the Heart Hollow Background Board Metal Cutting Dies to see if they earn a permanent spot in our card-making lineup. At first glance, the design feels like a modern twist on classic romance: crisp heart hollows that read cleanly on everything from minimalist thank-you cards to layered scrapbook pages. In our runs through cardstock and textured paper, the die delivered sharp cutouts and a satisfying embossed detail when we added a little extra pressure. We especially liked how the background-board format doubles as a photo-frame accent, turning ordinary album spreads into something that looks intentionally “finished.” That said, it’s not a one-die-fits-all solution—complex layering takes planning. Still, for our shop’s Valentine, wedding, and everyday-love themes, it’s a strong contender.

In our shop, materials either earn a permanent spot on the shelf or quietly disappear after a few test runs. The 42 Pack Basswood Sheets 1/8” (12 x 12 x 0.118 in / 3 mm) quickly landed in the “worth revisiting” category. Right out of the box, the sheets feel clean and craft-ready—unfinished, smooth enough for engraving, and forgiving when we’re prototyping ornaments, layered signs, or small box panels. On our laser cutter, the basswood takes crisp lines and readable detail, especially on lighter engravings where grain can make or break a design. The square 12x12 format also keeps layout simple—less measuring, more making. It’s not flashy, but it’s dependable stock for everyday builds.
