Totally Bamboo Nevada Cutting Board Review: Our Shop?

When we first unboxed the Totally Bamboo Destination Nevada State Shaped Cutting Board, it felt less like a kitchen tool and more like a small piece of travel décor. The Nevada silhouette is instantly recognizable, and the engraved map artwork adds a subtle “road-trip” texture that looks right at home under a spread of cheeses, fruit, and crackers. We also appreciate that the reverse side is smooth and practical-handy for everyday slicing when we don’t want to baby the display surface. The included hang tie is a nice touch, letting us turn it into wall art between gatherings. In our shop, it lands in that sweet spot: functional enough to use, distinctive enough to gift.

I Tried VAKADO Blue Stripe Outdoor Covers (2-Pack)

I’m picky about anything that shares space with my outdoor builds-if it sits on a bench I’ve milled and finished by hand, it has to earn its keep. The VAKADO Waterproof Blue Stripe Outdoor Throw Pillow Covers (18x18, set of two) did exactly that. The chenille stripe feels more substantial than the usual slick “outdoor” fabric, and the blue pattern adds a clean, coastal look without shouting for attention. After a few sunny afternoons on the porch and one surprise sprinkle, the covers dried quickly and still looked crisp-no obvious fading so far. If you want an easy refresh for a patio couch or garden bench that respects good craftsmanship, these are a solid upgrade.

Ingersoll Rand 114GCQ Air Hammer: Shop Fit Review?

Ingersoll Rand 114GCQ Air Hammer: Shop Fit Review?

We put the Ingersoll Rand 114GCQ EDGE Series Air Hammer Kit on our bench to see if it’s truly “shop fit” or just another loud promise. With a 2 5/8" stroke and a claimed 3,500 BPM max, it brings that sharp, staccato punch we want for stubborn exhaust clamps, rusty brackets, and quick separation jobs. The kit’s three chisel attachments give us enough variety to move from general maintenance to more targeted persuasion without digging through drawers. In hand, it feels purpose-built-compact, eager, and ready to live near the lift. The real question, of course, is control: how cleanly it tracks a line, how it behaves under load, and whether it keeps our work precise instead of chaotic.

Schaaf Carving Chisel Set Review: Right for Us?

Schaaf Carving Chisel Set Review: Right for Us?

We’ve been looking for a carving set that can move comfortably between tiny relief details and the crisp lines of block printing, and the Schaaf Tools 12‑pc mini chisel kit landed on our bench at the right time. The first thing we noticed wasn’t the blades-it was the large handles, which gave us steadier control during long sessions and helped prevent that cramped “pinch grip” feeling. The SK2 carbon‑steel edges arrived eager to bite, especially on basswood, and the included strop made quick touch‑ups feel like part of the workflow rather than a chore. We also appreciated the beginner tutorials, which kept our early cuts intentional. Still, we wondered: is this set truly versatile, or simply well-packaged for newcomers?

My Take on the Rattaner 6-Piece Wicker Sectional Set

After years of building benches and cedar planters in my shop, I’ve learned that outdoor comfort only lasts as long as the materials do. That’s why the Rattaner Patio Sectional 6-Piece set caught my eye. The all-weather wicker has that tight, consistent weave I look for in good joinery-nothing sloppy, nothing rushed-and the khaki cushions feel surprisingly secure thanks to the non-slip design. I also appreciate the glass-top table for easy wipe-downs after a smoky grill session, and the waterproof cover is the kind of practical extra that keeps a set looking sharp season after season. If you like hosting, lounging, or simply enjoying a quiet morning coffee outside, this setup deserves a look.

LE LEMATEC Sandblaster Gun Review: Right for Our Shop?

After weeks of staring at stubborn rust and dulled brackets, we put the LE LEMATEC Sand Blaster Gun Kit (AS118-2C) on our compressor line to see if it could earn a spot in our shop. Right away, the portable build felt like a tool we’d actually reach for-quick to set up, easy to move, and flexible enough to switch tasks without turning the bench into a science project. We tested both gravity and siphon feed, bouncing from rust removal to light glass etching and even a run at grimy pool tile. The ceramic nozzle stayed consistent, and the blast pattern felt controllable rather than chaotic. Still, media choice and air supply made a noticeable difference in results.

8″ Wood Letter Craft Kit Review: Right for Our Shop?

When we unboxed the 8 Inch 84 Pieces Wooden Unfinished Letters set, our first thought was simple: this could be a workhorse for our shop. The letters arrive thin, cleanly cut, and ready for whatever finish we throw at them-paint washes, bold acrylics, vinyl overlays, even a light stain when we want that farmhouse look. Because they’re unfinished, we’re not fighting a glossy coating or weird texture, which saves time on prep. At 8 inches tall, they read well on walls and craft fair displays, but they’re still light enough for easy hanging. The big question for us is consistency across the alphabet and durability during sanding-exactly what we tested next.

My Take on This 4-Piece Rocking Patio Set (Wood Arms)

I’m always drawn to outdoor pieces that mix comfort with a nod to real craftsmanship, and this 4-piece rocking patio set hits that sweet spot. The black Textilene seating feels practical for everyday outdoor living-easy to wipe down, quick to dry, and ready for whatever the weather decides to do. But what I really noticed are the wooden armrests. They add warmth and a hand-finished look that reminds me why I love working with wood in the first place. The two rocking chairs have a relaxing, porch-worthy motion, and the coffee table pulls the setup together for morning coffee or an evening drink. For patios and balconies where space matters, this set feels thoughtfully put together.

WORKPRO Linesman Pliers Review: Right for Our Shop?

In our shop, a tool earns its spot by doing more than one job well, and the WORKPRO 6-in-1 Linesman Pliers makes a strong first impression. The 8-inch frame feels substantial without being bulky, and the CR-V steel build suggests it’s ready for daily tugging, twisting, and cutting. We like how the integrated wire cutter and stripper turn quick fixes into true one-tool tasks-handy when we’re working on a ladder or chasing a loose connection behind a panel. The jaws bite confidently for screw clamping, and the ergonomic grip stays comfortable during repeated pulls. It’s not flashy, but it’s practical-and that’s exactly what we want.

Kids Short Pool Cue Review: Right Shop Tool for Us?

We didn’t realize how much a full-size cue was working against our younger players until we tried the Kids Short Pool Cue Set of 2. With length options from 36 to 52 inches, we could actually match the cue to our kids’ height instead of forcing awkward bridges and wild swings. We tested both the 1-piece and 2-piece styles; the 2-piece felt easier to stash away, while the 1-piece stayed pleasantly solid in the stroke. The Canadian maple wood gives a reassuring, “real cue” feel, and the UV-printed designs kept our kids excited between turns. Most importantly, the 13mm leather tip delivered consistent contact, making practice feel less like luck and more like progress.
