Saker Chamfer Plane Review: Right for Our Home Shop?
In our home shop, few things feel better than a clean, crisp edge—especially when a rough board is fighting back. The Saker Chamfer Plane (Combination upgrade, black) promises quick corner flattening and tidy bevels, and we approached it with cautious curiosity. The auxiliary locator is the feature we kept reaching for, helping us stay consistent when our hands wanted to wander. Swapping between the six cutter heads gave us flexibility for different chamfer sizes, from subtle breaks to more pronounced edges. It’s still a hand tool, so grain direction and pressure matter, but the learning curve felt manageable. In this review, we’ll dig into what it does well, where it slows us down, and whether it earns a permanent spot on our bench.
