In our shop, the WEN 6530 6-Amp Electric Hand Planer, 3-1/4-Inch feels like a small storm in the palm—compact, loud enough to command attention, and eager to turn rough boards into clean surfaces. We put it to work on softwood edges, door tweaks, and quick flattening jobs where dragging out larger tools feels like overkill. The 6-amp motor has the confidence to keep moving without bogging down in everyday cuts, and the 3-1/4-inch width covers plenty of ground with each pass. Still, we found that careful setup and a steady grip matter if we want consistent results. For weekend builds and shop fixes, it may hit a sweet spot.
