Woodpeckers Baltic Birch Plywood Review: Right for Us?

We’ve worked with plenty of craft panels, but this box of Woodpeckers 6 mm Baltic Birch Plywood feels like it’s aiming a little higher than the usual “hobby wood.” The 1/4 x 12 x 16 inch sheets arrive in a tidy set of 12, marked B/BB grade—clean faces for display pieces, with just enough character to remind us it’s real wood. What stands out is the stiffness: compared with basswood sheets we’ve used for laser and CNC projects, these panels hold their shape better and feel less prone to denting. In our early tests, the edges cut crisply and the surface takes wood burning with confident, even lines. Still, we’re watching for consistency sheet to sheet.
