10-Ton Hydraulic Cable Crimper Review: Our Shop Fit?
On paper, a 10-ton hydraulic crimper sounds like overkill-until we’re hunched over a battery tray with thick lugs, limited clearance, and a deadline. The 10 Ton Hydraulic Battery Cable Crimper promises single-hand return, a 180° rotating head, and nine hex dies covering 12 to 2/0 AWG, which hits the sweet spot for most car, RV, and marine rewires we see. What caught our attention is how “shop-friendly” it claims to be: less hand fatigue than manual crimpers, consistent compression, and the ability to orient the head without contorting the cable. In this review, we’ll see if those claims translate to clean crimps, repeatable results, and real-world speed on the bench and in the bay.
