Colorado Anglers Vise Review: Right for Our Shop?
On our bench, the Colorado Anglers Fly Tying Standard Tool Kit feels like a small workshop packed into a wooden box. We opened it expecting “beginner-friendly,” but the inclusion of a rotary vise, bobbin, scissors, and whip finisher hints at ambitions beyond first flies. The box keeps tools from drifting into the usual clutter, and the book adds a guided, step-by-step rhythm to early sessions. In use, we found the setup quick to get tying, with enough components to move from simple nymphs to cleaner, more consistent finishes without immediate upgrades. Still, we’re asking the shop question: does this kit hold up to daily tying, or is it best as a well-made starting point?
